So I am not the only one who thinks that Stephane Dion should beware of Michael Ignatieff. While I do not agree with Ignatieff's rightwing views ie. imperialism and the Iraq war I would still support him if the Liberal Party chose him in convention, maybe even the next convention, but right now Dion is the leader and Liberals should support him. He was not my first choice either, I wanted Kennedy, but still give my full support to Dion now instead.
I am not saying to oust Ignatieff or anything stupid like that, and definitely not to stab him in the back. Just that we should not be involved in secondguessing. This isn't negative about Ignatieff it is simply positive about Dion, people are calling him "loser" and "flipper" and being nervous about him and many are looking for another. That is the wrong way, we have to be united behind one. Ignatieff will have another turn and I will support him if he is successful then. Right now let's stop the speculating about what a winner Ignatieff could be if we chose different. We did not choose different and we should be proud of which leader we decided to choose for ourselves. Stop saying that his English is not good, it is fine, as good as Harp's French on Chretien's English and they were both Prime Minister. He is not one-issue he has already handled many important various files. Why ask how much better Ignatieff would be instead when we have a very good leader who has supported Canada and Canadians and will fight for us. The buzz is everyhing and we generate our own buzz. So have a positive buzz on Stephane.

Single White Female
Jason Green makes fun of liblogs and tories and calls me the shark in Jaws because I "always turn left"- ha ha, very funny, Jay. You remind me of Jennifer Jason Leigh in Single White Female.
Ha ha.

Watch your back, Mister Dion
Jason Cherniak is more right than he knows, Michael Ignatieff still has his sights set on the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada and is carrying out right now a public relations campaign to prove himself the defacto leader already, preparing himself for a sweep come the next leadership race, which he hopes to jumpstart sooner than later, and at the party's expense electorally.
Just think back to Ignatieff'sface on the night of the final ballot, this was not the face of a man ready to back down gracefully.
He is unhappy and to tell the truth probably also frustrated with Dion's progressive-wing decisions and policies. He believes that the progressive left is not where he wants the Liberal party to be and wants to pull it in his own direction. He sees votes and power in his tunnel vision and will ignore where Dion's votes and power lie. Ignatieff is not a progressive and taht's why he lost the leadership to Dion in the first place.
Right now he is doing all he can to undermine Dion's authority and leadership, on camera whenever he can manage, always answering "My feelings" "My opinion" "I" "I" "I" rather than "Mr. Dion feels" or "Stephane Dion" or "our" or "the Liberal Party". By making Canada believe he is the "true" leader of the party he will raise his own polling and opinions about him until the next leadership race makes enough Liberals think "This guy is who Canadians like and trust and respect, we should go with him".
It is understandable, to be sure, that he might want to prepare himself for the future, but at what cost is what I ask. By sacrificing party unity? By undermining his own leader, whom voters must come to know and trust in order to secure votes? By upstaging Stephane Dion?
As an actor, no one likes a bit pplayer to steal the scene to make himself look good. That is how a good show works, with cast unity. It doesn't matter if you are the bit player or the lead, a trained and respectful actor KNOWS that the show will not come off too good if someone is trying to steal the focus for their own insecurities. That is a lesson that our Party must learn if our show is to go on.

Fear tactics are not the style of Canada
Watching the goings on of the Dear Leaders "new government" it is becoming all too quickly clear that we are looking at US style fear rhetoric of the Cheney and Rumsfeld axis of evil style. Harper's plan is basically to crush the spirits of Canadians through terror and fear until they vote for him rather than give their vote to a progressive because they are suddenly conditioned to believe the Big Lie that "liberals are soft on terror". I fear that many of the sheeple will fall in line with this blatant falsehood and cast their vote in exactly the way that Harper wishs them to do, puppetstrings of the sheeple clasped firmly in his iron glove, his own puppetstrings yanked around by Shrubbie Junior The Cowboy and Haliburton. But there is always hope for a progressive unlike a neo-con who has only fear and my hope is that the 2/3s of Canadians who voted progressive will mostly remain progressive. Canada is a progressive country, not a conservative country. Most Canadians will not fall for the Big Lie. Dion and Liberals are not soft on terror. Dion is a human rights focused academic who can see a bigger picture. A bigger picture of a free society that respects civil liberties and personal freedoms and rights and does not place any value on ruling through fear. Canadians will not fall for HarperCrite's ReThuglican fear-based campaign and will vote for a positive vision over his negative attack ads. A majority of Canadians voted progressive, against Team HarperCon.

Ted Haggard "Completely Straight"
Great news for fundamentalist right wing Christian Conservatives everywhere - popular disgrace homophobic homosexual minister Ted Haggard has been set straight again by some intensive Bible-thumpin' therapy!!!! Yee-haw!
Hey morons, if a lifetime of preaching hatred against gays, working with the White House to discriminate against gay Americans, getting hitched to a Bible-thumpin' woman and having Bible-thumpin' kids didn't cure him, then I figure a few weeks "therapy" isn't going to cure him either.
I am "completely straight" and no therapy could change that. Ted Haggard is gay, gay, gay. Get over it, conservathugs.

DENVER (Feb. 6) - One of four ministers who oversaw three weeks of intensive counseling for the Rev. Ted Haggard said the disgraced minister emerged convinced that he is "completely heterosexual."
Haggard also said his sexual contact with men was limited to the former male prostitute who came forward with sexual allegations, the Rev. Tim Ralph of Larkspur told The Denver Post for a story in Tuesday's edition.
"He is completely heterosexual," Ralph said. "That is something he discovered. It was the acting-out situations where things took place. It wasn't a constant thing."
Ralph said the board spoke with people close to Haggard while investigating his claim that his only extramarital sexual contact happened with Mike Jones. The board found no evidence to the contrary.
"If we're going to be proved wrong, somebody else is going to come forward, and that usually happens really quickly," he said. "We're into this thing over 90 days and it hasn't happened."
Haggard resigned as president of the National Association of Evangelicals last year after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced. He was also forced out from the 14,000 New Life Church that he founded years ago in his basement after Jones alleged Haggard paid him for sex and sometimes used methamphetamine when they were together. Haggard, who is married, has publicly admitted to "sexual immorality."
Haggard said in an e-mail Sunday, his first communication in three months to church members, that he and his wife, Gayle, plan to pursue master's degrees in psychology. The e-mail said the family hasn't decided where to move but that they were considering Missouri and Iowa.
Another oversight board member, the Rev. Mike Ware of Westminster, said the group recommended the move out of town and the Haggards agreed.
"This is a good place for Ted," Ware said. "It's hard to heal in Colorado Springs right now. It's like an open wound. He needs to get somewhere he can get the wound healed."
It was also the oversight board that strongly urged Haggard to go into secular work.

Welcome To Garth Turner
My thoughts on Garth Turner becoming a Liberal are positive. This is a great development and more Liberals should be excited about it. This once again proves that the Harper Reform Alliance Conservatives is a party that has no place for PROGRESSIVES. Like Scott Brison and many others, many progressive conservatives find that this new Con party is a vehicle for extremist Christian views based on the Bible and arrogant warmonging. These people do not even listen to scientists telling us all that our planet is in danger. Instead they believe that Jesus is running the earth's thermostat, so there is no need to worry, folks. Ignore those scientists behind that mirror!!
Garth Turner shows Canadian voters very clearly which party is open and tolerant and can accept debate and discussion. I am beyond belief that so many Liberals think Dion made the wrong choice to accept him. This is proof to Canada of the openness of the Liberal Party and it's evironmental credibility!!!

Fight Fire With Sunshine
It is time for Liberals to fight fire with sunshine. I call on the Liberal Party to respond to Prime Minister Harpercrites negative attack ads falsely smearing Stephane Dion with out of context comments with POSITIVE ads instead that portray the passion of Stephane Dion and the Liberal Party to preserve our environment and our climate for the future generations of Canadians hoping to inherit a clean earth.
Go POSITIVE against these right wing conservative NEGATIVE ads!!!
